Email Safety – good practice

Email is great, but as everyone knows it brings its own risks and needs to be handled with caution.

Is that email really from your bank, the document from the tax office or that picture really from great aunt Maude?

Caution not speed is the rule here, it takes hardly a second and far too easy to click something you didn’t mean to. Then take days, weeks or forever to undo that simple mistake.

Criminals work on the basis that someone out there will be in too much of rush, too greedy or easily panicked. Dont be one of those people. To be fair, they are professionals and know how to hide their true intentions, but you can still out-wit them.

IF ITS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT PROBABLY ISNT

If in doubt, contact the organisation directly with a separate email or by telephone
