001 Social Media

Fuelling maybe 50% of internet usage, social media is the big thing on the block. You have probably heard of Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, these are the biggest social media platforms today (but not necessarily the best – for you!). There are many others, and new ones appear every few months. They let you share things with friends, family and common interest groups.

All this is part of, what was known as, the Web 2.0 revolution in the early 2000s.

Many specialised topics, for example particular hobbies or members’ clubs, might have their own forum on a website. If you dont like the main social media platforms, this might be for you. Discover more about forums here

This website doesn’t have a forum, but some pages have a comments section where you can leave messages for us or other visitors. There’s more here

Newsletters are not part of social media directly, but worth considering. See more ..
