Rhythm & Sound Dance Studio
We are pleased to invite you to the annual Rhythm & Sound showcase on 7th December 2021 at 4:30pm. Join us for a celebration of dance choreographed by our award-winning choreographer M. S Drayton. The programme of events is a unique opportunity to see the broad spectrum of creative dance developed through our classes over the last 12 months. Over 30 students will perform a mixture of dance from ballet to contemporary jazz. We continue to pride ourselves on our values that dance is for everyone, it boosts confidence and promotes wellbeing at every age.

ACTIVITY

Flyer2 Poster
  1. you’ll need a new document!
    Start MS Word > New blank document
  2. Copy out the news about the dance studio above
  3. Save as Rhythm and Dance Flyer
    1. File > Save As > Browse
    2. Choose location: (you’ll be told where)(why?)
      Desktop?
      or
      Documents folder?
  4. Rhythm & Sound Dance Studio is the title, use the toolbar buttons to
    1. make it centred
    2. bold
    3. apply a Title style (or change Font & size)
  5. Insert a table
    Type in the following information

    Time Performance Class
    4:30 A celebration of dance Whole company
    4:45 This is me- Musicals mash up Solo performances
    5.30 Breathe Advanced senior
    5:45 Release Advanced Junior
  6. Make the column headings bold and centred
    Make the times bold and italic
  7. Add an image below the title
    1. Click to the right of the title, press enter
    2. Insert an image from the internet
    3. Search for and select a suitable picture of your choice
    4. Resize the image so it fits nicely on the page
      (use the handles at the corners)
  8. Save as Rhythm and Dance Flyer Final

Lets make this into a poster

  1. Beneath the title, add a suitable image (eg dancing)
    1. the image must be short enough so everything stays on one page
    2. make any necessary changes to keep everything on one page
    3. change the look of your image (change colour/ hue, crop etc)
  2. Save as Rhythm and Dance Poster (your initials)
  3. To email our poster, we need a special document format
    1. Why?
      write your answer in the header
    2. Print the poster as a pdf
